Big Lake, Texas. County Seat of Reagan County - home of the santa Rita #1 that ushered in the West Texas Permian Basin Oil Boom.


BTW - it was the Yates Oil Field - named after Ira and Ann Yates - the folks who actually owned the land the well was drilled on. There's a town named Iraan (Pronounced Ira Ann) in West Texas named after these two. Not too far from Fort Stockton.
