I have lost about 20 pounds and now weigh about 170.
When I weighed about 190 I took a Blind friend that weighed a little over 350 flying in my plane. Full fuel and my flight bag in the rear. Can you say over gross? The plane flew fine. We did have a 5K runway.
The landing was the best part of the flight however.
My friend Marty has been blind from birth. This however has not stopped him from doing many things we all do everyday.
He had driven a car on the freeway while sitting in the driver's seat and taking comands from his "eyes" that were sitting in the right front seat. That should scare you to know people do that sort of thing.
Well Marty had never flown an airplane and wanted to.
I let him have the controls once we were on a long final
the approach was very interesting to say the least. I gave him comands and he flew the final approach, sort of.
I took over control after the tower asked if something was wrong.
What a day he had. Long story short the 150 will fly heavy.
don't be reckless, it can cost you plenty. Come to think of it, this was done in a rental 152, but same differance.
I would not recommend making a habbit out of doing this sort of thing to your airplane but it will do it. As for cabin space, it was tight to say the least.
