Thanks folks for all the posts. It really helps me to get a idea. I've logged over 500 hours in rentals, but have never started the process of evaluating planes for possible ownership until now.
Pre-Inspections .... an annual in place of one ..... brings another question of course for a guy like me who does not even know an mechanic. How to pick one for a pre-buy, etc.? Look locally for someone who would be willing to travel a few states away if I find a plane elsewhere? Or wait until I find a plane I'm interested in and ask around the local airport there for ideas? Or just trust whoever the owner uses?
