One thing you can do is to see if the plane was ever reported to be involved in an accident/incident. Click on "Hangar" on the left side of the screen, then do a "Perform Document Search", check all the boxes for NTSB, FAA, etc. If no incident entry was found, but the plane shows signs of major repairs, then you know something fishy is going on.
