A hat shelf......
why don't you make one. It only sits on the ledges of the side pieces. Secure it with removable clips ...... attached to the hats of course so the hats will not fly around the airplane in bouncy weather. After all all hats have to be secured to a shelf....or a head.

fabricate threw you off. Since you explained how it is attached, you must have one. I look forward to your sending photos and dimensions of the one in your 1959 Model as the parts manual is not very detailed. What is the part number for the ledges of the side pieces? I can't find them listed!!
