I've bought and sold a few big things sight unseen. Ask the right questions and price accordingly, altho it's not for everyones taste to take a chance like that.
I just sold a truck for our town with an online auction. I had about 10 bidders, only two of whom had come to see and drive it. ( and loved it) The winner was a Minnesota car dealer, a sight unseen buyer.
