Well Marv Golden made good on the bad unit and I have the new one, and they issued a UPS pick-up for the bad one (it's on its way back).
So far I'm impressed with the unit and have been able to work my way through the menus and features without much difficulty. It's pretty sweet having the large configurable display and I've gotten used to the buttons and menu selections. All in about 2 hours.
I fail to see the need or desire for the MapCreate 6 software, but I haven't played with it much yet.
The manual is poor, but there is a lot of information to publish so I'll give them a break for now and see how much is intuitive or is buried in the manual (yup, I skimmed).
The test will be in the air, and I haven't resolved mounting the unit yet. The yoke is not an option at this point for me, I have center panel room that could accommodate the mount, or I may strap it to the passenger seat (which is usually empty).
This is my first impression. We'll see after a few flights.
