Yes they can be overhauled.
You need one O ring.
It is basically a brass Petcock with a O ring and a spring to keep it tight.
The valve is supposed to be used as an emergency off valve. The manual says it should be wired open with thin safety wire (.020??).
The brass can be lightly cleaned. Do not use silicone lube to lube the valve. It is supposed to be brass on brass.
Some mechanics use "fuel Lube" which turns out to be a mil spec.compound that does not dissolve in fuel. Also Called "EZTURN".
It is also a dielectric for use on screws and bolt of dissimilar metals and acts as a anti-sieze. Very sticky stuff one small tube will last a lifetime. Also used on threads on flare fittings (not the first 2 threads) and other uses..

A EXTREMELY light coat inside the petcock and on the flat where the spring face is helps the natural friction of the brass and the O ring stops leaks...
