The Administrator, Right? And in these two statements, who has The Administrator handed over the FINAL AUTHORITY?? To the Pilot in Command!! The Feds would never suspect this was the wrong spinner during the ramp check. No worries!! If the Feds ever had the occasion to review the aircraft log and saw your suggested entry, they would have all they need to trigger a very close scrutiny. Why break the rules and then bring attention to breaking the rules by logging that you're breaking the rules. Now if the spinner change never got logged...I agree, it would probably never get discovered.

The regulations are quite specific about logging maintenance. Besides, why would the Feds ever have a requirement to review the logbooks? But, if they ever did, they would be required to ask for specific entries. So, unless they ask to see the entries pertaining to the installation of the spinner.......... Well......... If they did, we already covered the legalities of installing the spinner assembly, have we not? Other wise, You never hand over your complete logbooks!! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,134 Member/1500+posts | Member/1500+posts Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,134 | You've never heard of the FAA reviewing logbooks, not just specific entries?

They cannot just go on a fishing expedition. Oops! Allow me to rephrase that. The FAA will demand to see your logbooks. For most people will comply out of fear. But, legally, they need to request specific information. You have your rights. I suggest you run it past your aviation experienced attorney....................... | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 25,464 Likes: 1009 Member/25,000 posts | Member/25,000 posts Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 25,464 Likes: 1009 | Bill, I'm glad that you didn't get the job with Reno FSS.
