While waiting for parts to arrive I am fixing and replacing little stuff on the WartHog. In many cases the brittle old plastic can be repaired. The carpet and upholstery can be cleaned and the chipped paint can be touched up. Most of the items that can be cleaned, patched, polished or touched up are relative inexpensive; mostly elbow grease.

When you have to buy something sticker shock is very common. Today I ran into an exception; I found a part that could be purchased for 10¢, that’s right, a dime for a genuine airplane part.

Any idea of what it could be?

Probably the metal pins that secure the plastic panel to the door.

Yeah, 10 cents each, but Cessna makes you buy 10,000 of 'em! smirk

Dog gone it Hung you are quick. Actually it is the buttons that hold the panel between the baggage compartment and the tail cone.

I needed four but I ordered twenty five so if anyone needs any of these little jewels let me know and I'll send them to you.

I see that the panel has screw holes at the top and sides. But mine has a velcro strip running across the top.

On Hungs first pic number DCP 0034 shown a couple of posts above, three "travel limiters" can be seen on the lower cables just right of center.
They're seen in Hungs photo as three brass blocks hanging on the cables. The parts book for the '78-'85 152 book calls them Block-Elevator Tab, (part #0411523 on page 308, figure 76, and shows a quantity of three. Mine were removed when i had the control surfaces re-rigged. My present wrench isn't familiar with how they are to go back on and i'm sure he wouldn't mind a little heads up regarding getting them back on properly.
Can anyone help out with any info or guidance regarding these elevator tabs?
TIA, russ

Russ,

If you don't get much info from the forum, I'll go to the hangar on Wednesday and take for you some close-up pictures. They should help somewhat.
