It boggles the mind. The "experimental" guys can fly their airplanes in the same airspace, over the same cities and population, in the same weather as we do. Just find a nice 2.25" "aircraft type" digital clock and install it; no tso required. It's up to the individual person performing the installation of the digital clock to "complete adequate testing to assure that the original type certification of the aircraft has not been compromised and that the aircraft is in airworthy condition."
