I'm not a believer in numerology or that stuff, but check this out: If you add up the numbers of my birthdate and the year, then break 'em down....comes out to 36. 3+6=9. Take my preferred name - Ed.... "E" is the fifth letter... "D" is the fourth... add 'em = 9 My initials... EFP.... 5...6...16 = 27... 2 + 7 = 9 Uh huh. There are other instances, but i won't bore ya. Anyway, 999ED was just about perfect for your boy here. Now, I have been told that the RV crowd might be interested in Mary Lou's number... 714RV. My UNLUCKY number i "7". 7+1+4+18+22=52. 5+2 = 7. But, all is not lost.... Tack on the "n", and she becomes a "3'.... 66 = 6+6=12....1+2=3. Still.... inconsistant. If we have to count the "N", then we hafta do that on everything in the interest of consistancy. hmmmm... HOWEVER: Her serial number is 15079383. - - - 1+5+0+7+9+3+8+3=36. 3+6 = 9 She still loves me. ![[Linked Image from animatedimages.org]](https://www.animatedimages.org/data/media/218/animated-penguin-image-0137.gif) [ animatedimages.org] Imagine a united world. They paid the full price of a new paint job to get it. He never painted the plane. I didn't buy it either.

Ed Pataky really wanted N999ED. We decided to change our N-number so that then freed N999ED for Ed to use. I never would have even considered making him have to purchase it from me.
Kinda like my renting a house and then turning around and selling it to somebody...............
Bill Grants Pass, Oregon Oh come on Wild Bill, you're telling me that if Charlie Potatos from MegaSoft Corp called you out of the blue and offered you $100k for your N number you'd blow him off? No way. And who's getting hurt...nobody. I think where your premise is basically flawed is thinking that someone "owns" the N numbers. They don't. It's nothing like a tennant selling the rental house he occupies. At a well know SoCal marina you need a "permit" to have the use of a slip. The permits are issued by the city, harbor master, or some such authority. You can't GET a permit from them because they're all taken. When someone wants to vacate a slip they sell the permit for a hefty sum to the next tenant ($80k in our friend's case), who also pays a substantial change-of-boat fee to the local authority. Everyone gets what they want at a price they're willing to pay. Is it the fairest way to do it? Who's to say? Probably not, but money still talks, (although in many cases now it's crying for help )

Boy Dan, even after knowing each other as long we have it looks like you are in for a surprise. The answer is no, I would not sell it. Unless I was already of the mind to change the N-number, I would turn the offer down entirely. If I was already of mind to change it, I would do exactly what I did with Ed. Maybe I should qualify that just a wee bit. Like if I was in Ed's position where an aircraft repaint would be required to change the N-number. If the party wanting the number was in a hurry to get it, then they would have to pay for the cost of the repaint. I think that would only be fair.............. Now, if somebody offered us $100,000 for our entire airplane. You would see us scrambling to get that deal completed as fast as possible! Bill Grants Pass, Oregon

Bill, here's an opportunity for the general tax paying public to make a profit off something the government owns!!! Go for it!

I think half of the proceeds should go directly to the government to increase regulation within the FAA. The other half could be taxed up to 75% percent. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 13,969 Member/10,000+ posts! | | Member/10,000+ posts! Let's see Bengie, how many things have I given away right here on this Forum? Do you really think that I am all that interested in just making a profit? If more people would just feel the same way that I do then a brand new Skycatcher would not be costing $120,000+ I seem to recall you giving a thing or two away yourself, Bengie! And I, for one, am forever grateful! Bill Grants Pass, Oregon | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,760 Member/10,000+ posts! | | Member/10,000+ posts! Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,760 | Naw,..I said:
