Hi
I'm coming to Clinton for the first time this July. Actually stopping there on my way to OSH.

I've just purchased a very nice 63 C model that I'm interested in learning how to improve and maintain. Main concerns now are nose wheel shimmy ( I searched the archives and read the posts) and replacement of the old style instrument panel.

Any chance that there will be a "class" on nose wheel maintainence? Maybe a listing/overview of approved owner maintanence?

I look forward to meeting you at Clinton!

I've become more disorganized as I grow older, don't know why. So the forum at Clinton will be more of an open session. I'm going to try to have enough stuff to have something to talk about if everyone is mum and won't ask questions, but bring your Parts catalog and Maintenance manual as there are many good illustrations in them which help in the discussions.

I have an old nose strut disassembled and cleaned up and I'll bring it, everyone seems to have strut problems of one sort or another.

You know, as the event grows, this really isn't a bad idea. Maybe even taking on topics through the day that are diverse, but aviation related.

For instance, my diabetes "scare" woke me up to the medical process and the research of others (many club members e-mailed me) could benefit those who have not yet received the news of a health condition that will certainly strike others.

Another forum....IFR....I am finding more information by talking with people than the internet.

Mountain flying....Using Flight Following...and so forth. A lot of questions can be answered in either a Q&A format or a presentation.

Now...the problem is, with a full day of flying and having fun, who has time, But...let's get the topic on the table anyway.

Charles maintenence forums are a huge success from all I have read, and one example of how this can be used. The Cardinal group takes their two or three most knowledgable owners, and pull the cowl off of a couple volunteer aircraft to show people the foilables associated with the Cardinal. In the process they usually find some flaws, and they are not even A&P's.

That's a really fine idea Jeff. I will nominate my airplane, (which is a 30-footer from a cosmetics standpoint) if we want to pull the cowl off and take a peek inside...
