I would not consider buying this plane.
Yes, it probably fly's OK, and it does look "clean"...
(the price seems a bit low for a 450 SMOH plane)
But.... buying this you "inherit" everything about the plane, it's history, warts and all.
Always consider what would happen if you had to sell this plane yourself?
The logs "could" be an undocumented mess you may never sort out.

It was N6687G on the accident date of 4/17/1982. The plane 3 serial numbers earlier is N6684G. I'll bet it was N6687G from the built-date until some time after 4/17/1982.

Yeah...actually the asking price is exactly the right amount for somebody wanting to "unload" a plane on an uninformed buyer.
He's "asking" $16.5K, you "negotiate" down to $15K something...and you think you got a STEAL....
Then, your first annual your IA "discovers" everything we've discussed here.....

Interesting....
How long has he owned it?
And WHY is it for sale?
See, this is exactly what you have to think about before you buy a plane. I'm sure the seller isn't trying to be fraudulent, and is probably getting up to speed on the mess he owns really quick..... blush

Bought it to become a flight school plane and partner with an instructor. Some sort of falling out with the instructor when it wasn't being rented enough to pay the bills. Now selling. So hasn't been in his possesion very long.

Already decided to pass. Just interesting learning about it.

When I had AOPA do a title search for N9428U (my plane now) before I bought it. AOPA accidentally did a title search for N9482U. I noticed immediately that they had done the wrong N number search and they did another one for N9428U.

But, on the title search for N9482U, it had a lean against it. I called the owner of N9482U and told him what had happened. He was very grateful for the information. He had bought it from a friend and neither one of them had done a title search.

ALWAYS GET A TITLE SEARCH !

My 150L with serial no. 15072167 which used to be N6667G before I got it (and turned into canadian registration), is definitely an L model
