Unless you're a buyer. grin

In my case, I paid just about Vref price for my Cardinal.

I would agree with you Poobs, but from other people I have spoken to, the actual "selling price" (compared to "asking price") is close to Vref in many cases. So my figures (I believe) shown above reflects a "selling price". But this is why I originally posted, so I could see what people would actually agree to buy it at (if they wanted to buy it).

Kirk, can you tell us at least the percentage difference between the original asking price, vs the actual selling price for your Cardinal?

Still waiting for my pseudo bidders to chime in. smile

I think your $7k number isn't far off... new plastics and carpet is $3k all by itself!

The original prop and panel is a drawback... If I was bidding at an auction, I would likely be out between 5 and 6 K. Disassembly and transport... Paint before reassembly, snag a mid time engine... I would think you could end up with a $30k airplane for less than that invested.

I think it was within 1%.

Even with all the problems I had to fix, I would still say I paid a fair price for the airplane. Not a great price, neither overpaid, but a fair, "arms-length" transaction price.

Well, got an agreement from a buyer for my plane. Didn't get the $7K like I wished, but as they say, "You have to let go to move on". I need to move on, this project has taken more time than it should have. Wasn't sure if/when another buyer would step up.

One thing for sure, my plane will fly again and will be used to teach many others to fly...so that takes the sting out of the less than asking for price.

Bitter sweet memories, thinking of the lyrics to that song from Whitney Houston, I Will Always Love you. cry

Well, I guess you have mixed emotions, Jeff. Kind of a sad and happy day all at once.

On the top: it's Relief, middle: Sadness, bottom: Happy.

Hopefully Happy will be on top and relief will take both remaining places once I find the suitable 4-place.
