I have a 1964 150D that is not currently night VFR legal, it doesn't have a beacon or strobes currently. I'm looking to get it legal in the most economic way possible (ideally used/salvage parts).

Just looking to see if any members have anything lying around that would help me out. Also, any tips are welcome regarding the best way you've done this to your plane.

Do you have a place to mount a beacon on the top of the vertical stabilizer? Or is it just the plain fairing?

If the latter, I have a beacon mount fairing for you. Only fits the D/E models (they’re the only straight tails with balanced rudders). Put a beacon or strobe in it, and you’re legal.

PS - welcome to THE best type club on earth!

I have the beacon flasher that sits down in the tail along with the associated resistor. Also have a beacon which needs a clean up and a new bulb. Will dig them out this week. Originally these were in a 75 150M.

Welcome Marty!

'64 - you don't need strobes to be night legal. Just position lights and a flashing beacon.

Landing Light - only if for hire. But more than nice to have.

Strobes - optional but nice.

@Atlantic Svcs

Yeah I noticed that, but I don't have a beacon either. I think if I have to choose whether to add a beacon or strobes, I'll pick the strobe for better visibility.

Shawn,

Thanks so much for the link! I emailed him, let's hope it's still available.
