Lachlan and Steven are indeed right, Jeff. All you have to do is peruse this forum to see that most of us have plans or are actually in the process of doing things to our airplanes. I won't mention names, but some of us are having our seats reupolstered and recovered, others are installing engine monitors, some are putting in new avionics or radios, etc., etc. I guess kind of like beauty, the perfect airplane is in the eyes of the beholder.

I know from your most recent post you are just looking for serviceable, not perfect. Probably the biggest problem with finding one like that is the folks who are flying regularly and have airplanes that are kept in good shape probably still enjoy flying and don't really want to sell unless they are moving to a different airplane. The prices right now have brought a lot of hangar queens on the market, and you being careful and patient is exactly what you should be doing. There are a few good ones around. Ken just found one in Texas a few months ago and Amy moved to a faster airplane and sold hers. Hang in there and if you hear of one you like, jump on the forum here and let folks know. A lot of times, one of us will be pretty close by and can at least let you know if we know the airplane or owner, and maybe put eyeballs on it.

I don't know your budget, but there is an outstanding example of a 152 that will probably be on the market fairly soon. Hang in there.

I started looking for another plane in January 2020 and finally found/bought "the plane" for me early March of this year. I'd previously owned 2 150's, a 68 H model and a 66 F model and had an idea of what I wanted, this time. I looked and researched a lot of planes during my hunt to include 150's, 152's, and early 172's. Some were good but most were, imo, questionable. As it became more and more a "sellers market", it seemed the good pool was drying up and as Stacey stated, lots of hangar queens came to market. I was lucky on 05U, a 150D/150 and it was well worth the wait. I'm making a few upgrades to change it from "the airplane" to "my airplane" and enjoying the process. So, I said that to say this; keep looking/researching/asking questions/reviewing data, as the right plane for you will come along. Set your criteria but be able to change, as needed. Also, continue to use this club as an invaluable resource. 05U would not be in the hangar at KMEI without help from the club members, especially; Jim Hillabrand, David Rowland, and Gary Shreve. Ken’s post is full of truth. I would not own my 150M without the help of Bob Kaiser and Grant Garvey. This club is more than just a bunch of 150/152 owners. It’s a group of people who love them and will do whatever it takes to get one into the hands/hangar/field/airstrip of another pilot who is willing to commit to loving a 150/152. And then there’s the overwhelming helpfulness of knowledge and patience that the members of this club give to each other. Every 150/152 is loved here. Even if it’s yellow.

Whoa.......after such a heartwarming post you end it with a shot across the bow.

All kidding aside, Uncle Eddie and all the other owners of yellow 150/152's have to have a sense of humor better than most and I hope none of them take the ribbing personally cuz it's all in fun.

Some of the finest examples of planes in our fleet are yellow........I just happen to like reds better.
