The leather eyebrow cover cost me $75 this spring. I installed it myself,, it's quite easy to do.
Easy!? Did yours have rivits holding a metal plate to it? Note there are two on the right and one on the left side of this photo of the pilot side portion of the eyebrow. I tried removing my eyebrow today, got nowhere. Should I drill out the rivits, or how should I detach this plate from the eyebrow?

Can TNwings work their magic on an eyebrow that have defects such as this (the screw became completely detached from the rubber), or do I need to purchase a new eyebrow? Thanks, Mark
I don't think you should need to remove that switch panel to remove the eyebrow (looks like someone stuck it on there pretty good). If you remove the screws on the top side of the eyebrow, it should pull straight up... I think.

Mark,, looks like someone did a rivet job on your eye brow panel,, Personnaly, for very little money I'd get a new one from plane plastics. So, to redo the eyebrow,, yes that panel does need to come off. I would suspect that, as you pull the eyebrow forward, the wires from the eye brow panel should have enough slack in them to come forward and hopefully, whoever did it put some quick connects on them. If it doesn't have the quick connects, make life easy for yourself, I'd snip the wires and add the connects. Once you've got the eyebrow off, the panel does need to come off to make a nice job. Looks like the rivets can be taken out and if your carefull you could re-use if you want to. I turffed mine and put on a new one. The leather is fairly easy to put on,, 3M Contact spray cement for fabric worked very well. I made sure that I pulled it quite tight. Looks more complicated then it is. Just make sure that the sewn line, lines up at the top,, makes for a very nice finish. You'll like it.
Mark,, the switches should be fairly easy,, just undo the knots and they should push back, As a safet measure,, just in case,, I'd tied a string to each one so if it falls behind you've got string attached to fish them back out. Highly unlikely but better safe then sorry. As well, if you do keep your eyebrow panel,, Sem color coat probably has the color to match your exixting panels,,

Mark,, a bit difficult to tell from this picture, but has someone riveted a metal face onto the eyebrow panel? Possibly to provide a re-enforcement to the existing lights and switches? When I redid mine I didn't need a backing plate. Hope this works,, here's a pic of mine,, So, the only mistake I made,, I should've got rid of the mirrow and used the space for something else,,

Lionel, Is the reason the torn rubber is no problem because the newly refurbrished leather eyebrow is glued to the glareshield w/ 3M contact spray (obviating the need for the screws?) Mark

Lionel, Yeah, I have this ugly red "A,B,C" reminder in that space instead of the mirror you have. It's an unusual format for an instrument, no? What had you considered for that location? Also, the markings on the piece of metal that's rivited to my (left side) eyebrow panel are chewed up. Did the panel you got from Plane Plastics include the markings? Mark
