Thanks, Mark Mark,, the new TN wings leather cover will overcome this wee bit of a problem. Lionel, Is the reason the torn rubber is no problem because the newly refurbrished leather eyebrow is glued to the glareshield w/ 3M contact spray (obviating the need for the screws?) Mark Mark, once the leather eyebrow is glued on to the eyebrow, you'll need the new screws provided by TNwings in their kit, to attach the newly covered eyebrow to the top of your panel. With the leather to hold things together that spot you're concerned about will look just like new,, but better.

I installed it myself,, it's quite easy to do. Easy!? Did yours have rivits holding a metal plate to it? Note there are two on the right and one on the left side of this photo of the pilot side portion of the eyebrow. I tried removing my eyebrow today, got nowhere. Should I drill out the rivits, or how should I detach this plate from the eyebrow? My next post shows the right side of the eyebrow... Mark Mark,, a bit difficult to tell from this picture, but has someone riveted a metal face onto the eyebrow panel? Possibly to provide a re-enforcement to the existing lights and switches? When I redid mine I didn't need a backing plate. Hope this works,, here's a pic of mine,, So, the only mistake I made,, I should've got rid of the mirrow and used the space for something else,, Lionel, Yeah, I have this ugly red "A,B,C" reminder in that space instead of the mirror you have. It's an unusual format for an instrument, no? What had you considered for that location? Also, the markings on the piece of metal that's rivited to my (left side) eyebrow panel are chewed up. Did the panel you got from Plane Plastics include the markings? Mark Mark, The spot where the mirrow goes would be an excellent spot for a GPS anounciator or an intercom. Both would fit in there nicely and I suspect would be a bit more functional then the rear view mirror. I can't figure out what cessna was really up to there. The eyebrow panel didn't have lettering on it. I've covered all my panels with Sem coat, warm gray, and I did the markings myself. Using a name tag maker,, clear tape with black lettering. Once I had the panels coloured and marked, I sprayed on a, "clear coat" from SEM as well. First coat was a fine mist, let dry and then a second heavier coat. This really attaches the markings on well and fingers rubbing over top the markings can't peal them off or rub them out. Seals them in so to speak. Ive also, and I hesitate to say this, I'll probably get shot for this,, but anyways here goes. There are many panel marking kits available on the web for viewing. I've copied those into my computer,, once there, I've cut the protion out in my computer using cut and paste, Imported it into a paint program, modified it to suite my needs and prited it out on clear transparent plastic sheets,, It is absolutely incredible what a computer can do with just a picture pulled off the internet. Yep, I've been known to be cheap at times,,
