I am getting close to needing another plane to keep me busy and out of my wife's hair.
See you in Clinton.

This question of aircraft values set me to thinking about a recent conversation during some hangar flying. The gist started with a comment on the number of planes not normally seen for sale that were showing up in the various sales venues. A lively discussion ensued that turned to buyer resistance. The rising cost of fuel was one area of concern. The second was the possibility of FAA funding changes, namely a sharp increase in fuel taxes, and the possibility of user fees. Any thoughts on what role these and other questions may have on our immediate aircraft sales climate?

It's all predicated upon supply and demand. The upper end stuff (Barons, King Airs, Citations, etc) won't be hit as bad as say, the 170-182-210, Cherokee, Grumman market.

I would sexpect that if we get whacked with higher taxes and fees we'll see a slight dropoff - say on the order of 5-10% in our birds. i.e. - what was say a $20,000 bird now getting 18-19 bills.

Someone's tryin' to kill general aviation and they're doing it bit by bit, blow by blow. Man - how good it was in th 60's before the lawyers got to it and things were (relatively) reasonable from a regulatory standpoint.
