I’m a first time aircraft buyer and have decided after much online research to settle on purchasing a Cessna 150 as my first aircraft to start from zero for flight training.

I am a 30+ year A&P who has finally decided to obtain my PPL. There are schools in my area (SOCAL) that will rent Cessna 150s, but I have decided to purchase my own and just start with light sport license under the new MOSAIC rule. I have been searching on trade a plane and see some candidates there but figured I would post on this message board for guidance and suggestions. Any sound advice is much appreciated.

This listing to me looks promising. Any thoughts?

Since you're an experienced A&P, would you be interested in restoring THIS ONE ? I have no idea how long it would take to get it to flyable condition. If it takes 6 months or less, maybe you can rent a 150 for flight training while you'll be working on this one.

Hung, i’m looking for something that’s ready to fly and train in, not a project. maybe sometime down the road in my retirement I will do a project like the one you just shared. Thank you for the information though.

Hi Robert
I think that looks like a good deal but the link to TAP shows it is already sold

Hello Ron, yes it appears it has been sold. But this is the example. I think I’m looking for going forward.
