Clyde,

Big, huge welcome! Stick around and pull up a chair. Hey, I'm 6' nuthin and have been as big as 240 and the 1967 G with the 3 extra inches was snug. In fact, we targeted that model year and up just for the extra wiggle room.

There's a lot going for this plane, a huge part of which is the new mags, new exterior/interior and some new avionics.

So all of it sounds great, IF you are prepared for a couple of things:

A) putting at least a grand or two into her the first year to get the mechanical things that you will find taken care of; and

B) overhauling the engine soon.

The first year of ownership of an average '67G I bought with a partner for $19,500 with 150 SMOH on it cost us every nickle of $5000 for taking care of item A) above. Fortunately, we didn't need to be concerned about the extra $12 - $16k it will cost you to replace the engine. Now, that's not to say that's how much your first year will cost you, but everyone agrees you should have 10% of the purchase price set aside to repair the inevitable stuff that comes up during that first year.

Best of luck and please post your questions, we're anxious to help however we can.
