Good luck getting this one to pull weight at a ramp check...
The Feds would never suspect this was the wrong spinner during the ramp check. No worries!! (We need the tongue sticking out icon here!)
If the Feds ever had the occasion to review the aircraft log and saw your suggested entry, they would have all they need to trigger a very close scrutiny. Why break the rules and then bring attention to breaking the rules by logging that you're breaking the rules.
Now if the spinner change never got logged...I agree, it would probably never get discovered.
