Once you have built the plane, you will know everything about it. Take the LSA Repairman course (16 hours) and you can do all the maintenance yourself. Plus, it can run mogas to save even more money.
The RV-12 looks like a very nice airplane. But, be cautious Dale. The RV-12 is classified as S-LSA. Meaning that you must build it
exactly to manufacturers specifications. No deviation without manufacturer approval. It must be maintained specifically to manufacturers instruction. And replacement parts must be manufacturer approved. No substitution nor deviation without the manufacturer's oky doky. If you are satisfied to live within these restrictions, being an RV, it has little choice but to be a great airplane.
