Given it's not been rigged in the last seven years, I think a full rigging would be in order before cycling the gear in flight. I've seen the results of a nose gear failure. Even the most gentle of landings still usually results in a death sentence for the poor 310 because of the amount of damage that gets done with the props hitting the ground.
