Evening all,

Well, as of today (30 July) I have offically sold my 150G Taildragger VH-LGL. Yes it is a said day indeed, and if truth be told, one I have been quietly (but not constantly) working toward since buying "Two Dogs" some time ago, and without doubt, it is a most bitter/sweet moment as I sit here typing this.

I am happy that I am back to only having one plane to look after and worry about, but gee-wiz I'm gonna miss the old girl. She's been so very very good to me, she's never let me down once over the whole time I have had the pleasure of owning her (or though perhaps she owned me), I have never once had to wheel her back into the hangar because she could not go flying due to mechanical problems, heck... even the battery never went flat, the instruments always worked, if you flicked a switch to turn a light (or something) on, it always came on.

Apart from the usual once a year general maintenance to check her health, over the course time I have had the pleasure of spending with her, she hasn't cost me an extra cent in defective parts to replace, basically and in all honesty, all I have ever done is added oil and fuel, and not much oil at that either - truly amazing.

Yes, I did spend a little money on a new tailwheel because the old one looked a bit scatty (but it still worked fine) and I replaced the Skull Cap with a spinner only because I liked the look better - no other reason.

So bottom line - she was a great lady to me, served me well and in some respects I will probably live to regret the day I sold her at some time down the track, I guess I'll only find that out in the future, you know when you look back and say "Why the F%#& did I do that????, what the heck was I thinking???. Oh well, the problem I guess, is we live for now, and right now..... its the right decission to let her move on.

I truly hope all of you get to experience through your own aircraft how well I was looked after by my bird - truly a fine lady indeed,

She has gone to live in Tasmania, the Apple Isle, some 600 odd miles away from here and across Bass Strait, (that little island to the south of the Aussie main land - shapped a bit like....hmmm no, probably can say that)

In the words of the great Poobah.....Its Been A Blast smile smile smile

And lets not forget, without her, I might never have met all you guys here either, or experienced Clintion 06, and so on.. etc etc....

I'm gonna miss you VH-LGL........(my, Very Heavenly - Little Golden Lady) - please..... somebody stop me..... how about a hankey...anyone, I'm almost in tears here........

Cheers

Matt Gray

YOU'RE almost in tears??????

What about the rest of us?

Man... Matt - that sounds almost like a obituary. Or a tale from a jilted lover.

Too bad money and practical issues have to get in the way.

To tell the truth, I'd be bawlin' like a baby if I had to part with Mary Lou. Dangitall anyway... hope that day never comes.

Here's to VH-LGL! I raise my glass to you! To safe flights and happy landings to you and owners past, present, and future. To fair skies, smooth air and and tailwinds. Fly high and far.

Long live VH-LGL!
