That's a darn decent price on pants considering what others are asking. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,760 Member/10,000+ posts! | | Member/10,000+ posts! That'd be like....SWEET! ...and highly illegal! Bengie

Didn't I read somewhere in the FARs that illegal parts are only illegal until they've been painted to match originals? And that rule only applies to parts that can be seen. Too bad you'd have to paint them. I like the look of carbon fiber. Really, would it be that difficult to have them approved? Of course, those would likely have to be baked, where the fiberglass doesn't. Vacuum bagging, an oven, more overhead! Would carbon fiber be worth it at twice (speculated) the cost? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,479 Likes: 530 Member/10,000+ posts! | | Member/10,000+ posts! We're not talking about building an Formula 1 car part outta pre-preg carbon fibre utilizing a pressure autoclave. Gawd! I think you need some coaching in 'Bengie's backyard vacuum bagging' psssst...just start with an air conditioning vacuum pump. BCP-n-CSG
