I issued a number of Ferry permits. The restrictions are put on the permit at discretion of FAA. The only restriction I have had, and I have never been issued a ferry permit w/out it is daylight vfr only. I issued a ferry permit to go from Al to Iowa. That was a long flight with 2 fuel stops and no time limit was imposed other than a 10 day window to start and complete the flight.

Off the top of my head, I seem to remember that with a ferry permit, if something goes wrong on the flight the plane is grounded were it lands. I would think long and hard about flying someone elces plane to Texas from wester Wash. on a ferry permit. there are a lot of machanics who could do a quick annual here in washington. After all, what you want to know is the condition and that the plane is airworthy. Jerry Karlsberg just had a post about an IA he has worked with on his annual at Renton.

Yup, all good suggestions. Here is where it stands. If someone else scoops it up between now and mid January it is gone. If not I am going to do an assist on an anuual at that time. If all is well American looses a fare home.
