Just out of curiosity, what was the oil pressure before the oil filter was installed??

You know, before I sold this airplane for pennies on the dollar. I sure would be tempted to remove that oil filter, go back to the screen, and see what happens.......................

The story was his wife was only allowing him $12k to spend on a plane. He had retired and sold off a Tri-Pacer and missed flying. He seemed ok to me. Maybe his plane was to buy a nice, but high time airplane for $12K. Then ooops! Sorry dear, it needs an engine. laugh

Sorry no checks, especially for more than the amount of the sale. I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. wink

I'm not sure about the oil pressure before the filter adapter was installed. It was put in 2001. Then the plane was then sold to the previous 2 partners who owned it and moved it to FIT. The screen was never removed or cleaned again until a couple months ago. Evidently the mechanics never bothered to look. mad Following their lead, neither did I. blush The last owners used the same mechanics as I do.

Is there any chance that the oil filter adapter is causing the problem? confused I wouldn't think so, but it isn't out of spec by much.

A piece of advice for anyone else thinking of selling something big on eBay. You might not want to put your phone number in the ad. I've been getting calls from brokers and finance companies. I suppose that that should have been expected and am glad I didn't post my cell phone number.

Over 100 people have it on their watch list. I've sold a few motorcycles this way and that is a first by far.

Also make sure the airplane doesn't leave, or the paperwork transfered, until the "bank check" clears and the money is in your account for good.

Also, pull the registration certificate, fill in the back, and send it in before the airplane leaves. Do not depend on the buyer to do this, they won't bother, and your name will remain on the registration for months. If you send it in, the FAA registry will flag it as sale pending, and they will be waiting on the new registration paperwork to come thru.

Good advice Charles.

Best of luck Eric, hope they get into a bidding war. Yes, phone number in ad, usually bad idea. Let the ebay messaging system weed out the timewasters. I've sold a couple classic cars on ebay before and definitely have to make it a no-nonsense affair with certified funds only. Have a nice, concise, specific purchase agreement written up to if possible, takes out the grey areas in the deal.

Figures! 12 hours left to cancel the auction and now I have a good lead on an engine. Oh well, I have to think about it. Either I sell it or stick an engine and then maybe sell 50% interest for now.

Just thinking out loud.... confused my brain hurts
