Love my D model...LOVE the manual flaps. I've never been crazy about the non-standard panel layout, but have found it to be a non-issue in terms of usability. (and I kind of like that "curved dash" design)

It's only non-standard if you fly other planes.

True. I like the curved panel in my F model. My kids have better forward vision in it than the 152 or especially the 172 we rent from time to time. I have flown a straight tail fast back and was REALLY impressed with the difference in the rudder authority in a cross wind situation. Also, I was surprised at how much faster you could add or retract the manual flaps. It seems to me that airplanes all have different personalities or character traits, even within the same models. (kind of like women) shocked grin
