The 1971-73 style wheel fairings don't match the 1974 and up style, they are a different design. Look at the sales brochures on the club hangar section to see all the different styles. Unless the ones off his 71 were later style pants, you might not want to have an odd nose pant that doesn't match the mains. -Brian Attached is a photo of the 71-73 style.
Yea, the ones in the photo that Brian posted match the ones that have currently on my plane. I have another set that will be going on the plane when its painted, they are a little bit smaller and rounder, more Euro looking I guess you could say. Anyway, thats a sweet looking plane you have there Brian.
Does anybody know where I can get a pant for the nose wheel only for a 1975 M 150?
Cheaper the better of course.
I found mine by advertising on Barnstormers [barnstormers.com] . You may need to be patient. The 1974 on up nose pant are about as rare as hen's teeth. (I believe that the 152 pants are also the same.) I almost gave up and was going to install a complete set of older model pants. 1966-1973 can be fit. To do so you would require the backing plates for a 1971-1973 150. You can find more information here.
Fred,, What's your price range for a nose wheel pant?
I'm not sure Lionel. I don't have much information to compare what one might cost.
I have two absolutely beautiful pants in my garage for the mains. I don't know whether to get one for the front or sell the two i have.
Don't get in a hurry to sell the other pants, Fred. Be patient and a nose pant will eventually show up. Your 150 will fly just fine without pants in the interim.
@Hung - why would it be illegal to fly with pants on the mains but not the nosewheel? I didn't even get the nosewheel pant when I bought my airplane - only the two mains had pants..
