I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Max Haufe, instrument rebuilders from Sarasota, Fla. I've sent my DG to them twice & it still has a lot of precession! The second time around they claimed a screw came loose but it still acts up.

Thanks

I'm assuming you are comparing your newly overhauled DG with your airplanes wet compass. As it is possible that the quality of the overhaul could be questioned, don't rule out problems with the wet compass. I experienced a similar problem years ago with the HSI in a C-414A. We sent the instrument back to the instrument shop repeatedly with pilot complaints of precessing, only to find that the wet compass was to blame .

You might want to check when your compass was last overhauled and/or swung. Don't hold me to it, but I think that Cessna requires and/or recommends a compass swing every two years. Not a bad idea to know what's going on there anyway. Good luck !!
