You have to add in the appreciation for vintage value grin

You'd be surprised how many people would assume that it's a bargain, just because it's on eBay (or Barnstormers, or Trade-A-Plane, etc.).

There used to be a guy who bought new gas filler caps and other items from Cessna (assumedly at retail) and sold them on eBay at a profit. Some people just don't think to shop for prices!

I even ask for a price from my Doctor first. My medical is coming due and my old ME is retiring. He got bought out by the local BIG MED. They raised the price of a class 3 to $215. I called around and found another local Doc for $100. To call me cheap is a compliment. smile

My AME charges $100 also. I'll be looking for a new one next time as well, but for different reasons.

I just found Champion REM40e's on ebay for $21.81 each. That's a pretty good deal as I have done some shopping around and the lowest I could find was about $26 when you factor in shipping. Locally they are $28 + tax!

BTW, SEM works great on those grab handles and you can buy replacement shiny metal caps for cheap from your parts store.

Mine has always charged $75! BUT, he's also been one of our "team" of family doctors for the last 25 years... they're almost family (they're all partners in the same practice)! Maybe I get a discount? smile
