New Covers Arrived - Just in time for "Stormaggedon"

Folks, thanks for all the great advice and comments on selecting covers for the wings, horizontal stab, cowl cover, cockpit cover, fuselage cover, and prop and spinner; all on JUST IN TIME for the huge storms! AJ is snug in her spot with all her winter blankets!

Got it all from airplanecovers.com - they were pretty fast, too.

They are working great; for the first time in a long time, NO WATER in the cockpit after a heavy, windy rain storm! Also makes life easier when I want to fly in the morning with all the frost on the wings, and with the cowl cover and prop/spinner cover, makes pre-heating go a lot faster.

It is an investment, but I think it's worth it since I can't have a hanger! The plane looks like it's in a cacoon or something! MM

Charlie, it is a little bit of a hassle to take them all off for a short flight, but overall worth it for the winter months. I should have done this years ago and it may have extended my paint job a few more years.

Thank goodness we have the clubhouse right there to store the PILE of covers prior to flight - otherwise it would take my entire SUV to store them while flying! MM

They'll really help in the summer months, too. They'll keep the cockpit cooler in the sun and should offer some protection against hail damage.

Nice! Taking them on and installing them must be a chore. Worth it, though.

I wonder how it'll be after a snowstorm if you don't remove ALL the snow from the covers. Melting/refreezing of ANY snow or ice left behind will probably create a mold of what each cover is covering.

I remember many cold mornings taking off a "frozen" snowmobile cover, and having it come off like a shell, You had to remove the fabric cover VERY carefully or you could tear it. I'm wondering, are all your covers water proof, Mike?

They look like great protection, and will definately keep off all that road dust you get. It'll be interesting to hear how your cover system works with the whole melting and freezing process.
