Finally found my straight-tail C-150, N5566E, a 1959 (actually a 1958, #66) here in northern California. Finishing up the transaction now and hope to be flying soon. Love to hear from folks flying the early birds, especially those without Attitude Indicators. Thanks! (roadwriters@gmail.com)

Woo Hoo! Congrat's Dan!

Check out Mr. Charles Hanna's website on the early birds. He is an encyclopedia and always ready to help. (Thanks as always Charles, I am in your debt!)

Max!

Congratulations Dan. Great find and looking forward to hearing about your experiences.

Oh (by the way) ... nice first name!

Congrats Dan. I can't help. I fly a 1968 model with the slant tail.

Dan,
Congratulations. My '59 N5866E is pretty close to yours. It flys just fine with or without an attitude indicator. When I put a post it note over the instrument, the plane doesn't know the difference. smile

Congrats, Dan! Hope it works out for you as well as my guy, Wilbur, has for me.

Cheers,
Catherine

Thanks folks! I'll get some pix up soon. Instead of the attitude indicator, I think I'll post a photo of Jeff Dunham's "Walter" puppet -- that's an attitude! If Walter is smiling, relative to the horizon, the aircraft is in inverted flight. ;-)

It's a thrill to find that dream plane you've searched high and low for...I remember that feeling from back in 1995! Best of luck with your new best friend Dan. smile
