Turns out they are busted up and they are the plastic ones that aren't practical to repair. Does anyone in the east texas area have some they would like to sell?

If you cannot find a set from a club member or another private party, you can source them on eBay quite regularly. You should post a photo of the backing plates installed on your plane to determine the ones you should be looking for- what you have installed may not be original to your plane. -Brian | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 152 Member/100+posts | | Member/100+posts Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 152 | Thanks Brian, My brackets are wider (taller) in the front. I have noticed some brackets are shaped different. I will see If I can find a picture--pictures are always good.

Everything from 1974 on up uses the rectangular backing plate and the modern rounded style fairing. What year is your "L"?
