Carl, not sure how you expanded the pic, but thanks. I'll keep everyone posted and try and figure out how this all works. I'm still new to all this and havent had much time to spend on here looking things over.

Jim-

Welcome to the circus! It's good to see another member onboard from Missouruh, not MissourE, (our state's inside joke). We spoke on the phone a few weeks ago - glad to see you've started your project. If I remember correctly you are converting your plane to a taildragger - right?

When we can get more than six consecutive hours of decent weather I'll be flying to Liberty/Roosterville (0N0) to see about getting a new radio in the 'Rabbit Dawg', my 150H TD. While on that side of the state I'll probably hop over to Excelsior Springs (3EX)for some 'que at the Wabash BBQ. If you get a chance perhaps you can fly over - you're only 80 miles or so.

Hung, you're not too far from 3EX either. Perhaps a 'Flyover Fly-in'?

Get that puppy in the air, we here in the 'flyover states' need all the airpower we can muster to keep up with the coast guys!

Actually, I reduced it to 45% of original to 800x600 pixels using LView Pro, a simple graphics program similar to MS Paint (MS Paint is usually already loaded on Windows machines), to fit within the forum parameters. (The original was over 1mb).

I don't use one of the remote websites yet, so I attach the pic, then edit with an "image" link within the body of the text. I need to quit doing this, before Royson hits me for using extra storage space!

I downloaded your avatar (full size, over 1.1mb) by right clicking on it, cropped it to a square, and resized it here to 80x80 pixels required for your avatar. You can right click it, download it, and it should work fine for your avatar, if you wish.

Loading an attachment (above) is much the same as attaching a file to e-mail. It's just limited to 1mb in size, or it won't finish the upload.

Same with my plane - Manufactured in '71 - but a '72 model... 15072738 Dave

Same here, The FAA says mine is a '73 (manufacture date), Cessna said '74 (Certification Date)... http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNumSQL.asp?NNumbertxt=10750

I'll stick with the FAA on this one, she's a '73, I'm a '71 and my wife is a '77...Disco anyone?

You're right! Too many pics in the body, and too large avatars both slow down download. I finally went to DSL, and it's better (but not unaffected). I do remember the frustration I had with dial-up. Hurry up and wait!

It's a bad practice (too many pics) and I'll try to remember NOT to do it! I'll try to stick to attachments without the "image" links to them.

Any recomendations on a free storage website for my links?

P.S. The smaller the pic, the faster the download. That's why avatar's are supposed to be limited to 80x80 pixels. The small 80x80 pic above should be barely noticeable on download speed, even on dial-up, at only 3k file size.

Ya...not too far if I go direct, into Kansas City Class-B and overfly KCI airport.

Hung-

After watching your landing and the takeoff from Creve Coeur a couple of weeks ago, KCI will be a walk in the park for you!

Mr. Farmer:

Great! From the sounds of it, I'd say the price was fair. As with any project, TAKE PICTURES! The more the better, for you'll find the "old memory", is nothing like it used to be.

The one thing that stands out more than anything is the preparation of the aircraft for primer/paint. I used a Dremell with many wire wheels cleaning out every lap joint/rivet. It must have taken weeks, but I find many aircraft that have been painted, and already showing separation in these areas due to contamination/corrosion.

How's the panel?
