I think it's a Carolina Flying Club airplane.

I see your point! But, if every airplane with DH was scrapped, there wouldn't be nearly as many flyable aircraft left in the market, purchase prices would be dramatically higher, and far fewer pilots would own aircraft! We have to consider that at some point nearly every remaining flyable 150 (or any other out of production aircraft) will have some kind of damage history (documented or not)! This aircraft is repairable. With proper repairs, the higher times will devalue it more than the DH! | | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 1,940 Member/1500+posts | | Member/1500+posts Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 1,940 | It's a good candidate for a tail wheel conversion. My airplane had a collapsed nose wheel 25 years ago in 1981, hence the TW.

I've seen worse that was repaired and back flying within 30 days. This looks like a case of not having hull insurance- a motor mount, prop and the wing tip repair should be around $5K, if there is no damage to the center section/wing attach points, and the engine, depending on the time, could be torn down and inspected and reassembled for around another $5K- of course, you have to be an A&P to do the work yourself, there's no economical way to fix this if you had to pay someone $40-50 an hour.... OK just re-read the ebay listing, the engine has almost 1700 hrs- tear it down for a complete rebuild, add $10K. I'll pass..... -Brian | | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 1,940 Member/1500+posts | | Member/1500+posts Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 1,940 | tear it down for a complete rebuild, add $10K. I am just now getting a Millenium OSMOH exchange from Zephyr, 13.9K with accessories. Shopping around best price I got was about 12.5K, with 8 weeks down time. I am waiting about 6 weeks for the engine, but I am still flying meanwhile. Geo.
