I came cross a 152 with less than 400 hours. While this plane is "said" to be in very good shape, it has been damaged
The FAA report states: THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF THE ACFT ON LANDING. .... THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY DAMAGING THE LEFT WING.
The AP who recently did a TOH says that the damage was repaired extremely well (not by him) and would go unnoticed if it wasn't reported. This plane has flown abour 75 hours since the accident. The owner is asking a pretty hefty price based upon the hours, general state of the aircraft and the TOH. It seems that nothing was deducted for the DH. Would a recent DH make you hesitate purchasing such an A/C? Would you expect a discount for a DH A/C? If so, by how much?

Is that 400 total or SMOH?

If the repair was well done and the airplane has 75 carefree hours since, I wouldn't worry about it. It may be a good bagaining point, however.

That's assuming it didn't get the prop, which should be evident from the logs.

On paper, it looks good...the owner has stated that all the plastic is discolored. The TC needs replacing. I have a feeling that a lot of "preventive" maintenance has to done on this a/c. As everyone on this board has been telling me, low hours is nice but it is not a guarantee to headache-free ownership. My problem is that between acquisition cost, preventive maintenance and new avionics, this has the making of owning a very expensive 152. For the same price, I could easily find a true 4 place low wing (gasp...)

If the cost is prohibitive, or places you in the four seat realm, then it might be a good idea to look for another plane.

I was wrong, the TT is 597. The asking price itself is $35K

Not sure if it will work, but save the .PDF file to your computer somewhere, then type your reply message. On the confirmation page, it will ask if you want to make an attachment (right under your message), then browse and attach the pdf file which most folks with Adobe should be able to open and look at.
