Wow...opened up my TAP and what do I see...new 118HP Tcraft for $59,995 or how about 180hp for $69,995 or put a nose wheel on it and $73,995. That folks is competition to all the "new" cessna, piper, maule and everything in between I would think. I bet it's quite a performer with 180 hp

The 118 HP model is approaching twice the horsepower of the 65 HP T-Craft that I flew back in the 50s. I?ll bet money marbles and chalk that it is a spiffy performer in its? own right. For just plane fun I?ll bet it would be right up there with a 150/150.

A nose wheel on a T-Craft? Whoda thunk it?

"A nose wheel on a T-Craft?"

It worked for the Piper Pacer! But then, who ever heard of a 2-legged milk stool?

I have recently visited the new Taylorcraft factory twice in LaGrange, TX and have met with and spoken to the owner Harry Ingram on several occassions. I am intrigued! The F22B with the Lyc O-360 is quite a performer. The gross weight on all models and retroactive on previous is supposed to increase to 2250 lbs. There will be a bench seat in the back rated for a 200 lb. 3rd passenger. They are working on the sport class category and are trying to reintroduce the BC model.
I do love my 152 so a Taylorcraft would have to be in addition too which is extremely and economically far fetched for me.

The t-craft is a great airplane. I learned to fly in a J5 and later a 65 horse t-craft. Just a wonderful airplane. With the extra horses it would be a go getter for sure. The airfoil used is semi-symmetrical which is why it flies so much faster than a cub. Just look at what Dwayne Cole used to do with his clip wing!!
