Yeh, I know but unfortunately that was the way Cessna designed the thing.

I did the tail wheel mod with the intent to offer basic aeros and tail wheel training and figured the more simple I could keep it the cheaper it would be, and basic aerobatics are more about airplane handling and energy management...at least that is one way to look at it.

I used to own a 150/150 with the Horton STOL kit on Edo 1600 floats that I used in my school, it was a fair performer but payed a penalty with useful load and range due to fuel burn.

Then again I am aware that aviation is not an exact science and I'll be the first to admit I have lots to learn about how these things fly.

Anyhow the thing is for sale and hopefully someone will want it as is with the 100 hp in it.

Yeh, amphibious floats would be the ultimate..

..in fact that is what I'm working on now, a Cub homebuilt on amphibious floats....

...and selling the Aerobat will give me the money to finish it...

I like SC a lot. Are you using a homemade frame as well?

I am using a Super Cub airframe that I bought and replaced about 30% of the tubing..and added a left hand door for float flying.

The wings are a kit from Wag Aero and I have built all the feathers and got rid of the jack screw for trim and am using a tab on the left elevator...

..also have the new Wag Aero landing gear spring system so no more bungy cords.

For an engine I plan on a
lycoming 0-235 around 115 hp....

...now all I need is money..
