I've had my 150 for sale for several months now. I have 2 kids in college and really need to move it. If yall know of anyone looking for a well maintained and nice looking 150, I'm now asking 23.5K for it. Like most folks that care for their planes, I have much more than this invested.

Seems the market is only for planes in the 18 - 20k range these days.

Here's a link to with some info and pics...

That's my favorite year, Dennis! 40? of flaps, with the 152 style indicator. Pretty, too! But, I already have three (unairworthy) airplanes to fix.

And, I want to stay married!!

Dennis,

Beautiful plane. To bad I just bought mine in May.

Have you thought about putting it up on E-bay? I know there are a lot of planes listed there. You can set a reserve price for it, too.

Hope this helps.

Robert,
I have not tried ebay, but I have tried print ads in Trade-A-Plane, Controlller (its still on Controller.Com), and ASO. Shelby at TnWings.Com has it listed on his site as well.

No luck however, only about 1/2 dozen phone calls in 8 months

About what are the cost involved to list it on ebay?

And yes, its a very nice plane. I bought it 2 years ago for my 2 sons to get thier private in, and that is long since over. So the plane is hangered and very well maintained. I only put it in the air about every 2 weeks now just to keep it in shape. If anyone does come along and want to purchase it, its going to make them a nice aircraft.

Ebay costs are fairly cheap, but you will not do much better than you already have as it is a rare thing for full retail prices to be generated on ebay. Does get you more exposure.

Not to be the ice cubes in the cold water, but based on recent other commentary, you are quite high on your price. While a nice bird in every respect, most buyers of 150's are looking for basic cheap flying. Start at $23.5K add (in their mind) another $12-15K in 2 years (a buyer will assume he will fly more than he actually will) for an overhaul, and suddenly the logic will go to buying something now for $20-25K with a fresh or mid-time engine evn though the paint might be ugly.

The airplane is perfect except for the 1500 time on the engine which will scare some folks.

Hope that one perfect buyer shows up though, as it is a very pretty bird.

Here's a link that supports Jeff's observation.

This airplane looks like it is going to sell for around 16K and certainly under 20K at this time with only 1 hour left on the auction.

Not very encouraging, I know, but it seems the market is drifting lower at this time.

Your airplane looks like a good one. I'd sure give it consideration if I were in the market.

I've bought and sold a lot of stuff on Ebay and it has worked well on some things and not so well on others. I can tell ya that that particular airplane wont do too well because of its location. Its a long way from the majority of its buyers.

If I had to sell my 152 right now, I would probably only loose about 25,000.00!

Dennis,
Just curious, I didn't notice a 'NDH' designation in the ad. This may be an important item to mention, whether it's been damaged or not. Personally, I don't consider mild hanger rash as damage. Replace a skin here or there, no problem. Replace a wing or tail section, we'll need further discussion. FWIW, It may need mentioning.

Perhaps try www.barnstormers.com [barnstormers.com] It's free 'til you sell and even then the site would just like a donation or a percentage of the sale, your option. It can't hurt to try them. Course, I may have looked at it back during tax season when I bought mine, as it fell within the guidelines of what I was looking for. The '77 year model could have swayed me from the '76 I finally bought.

Hello, first post here. I plan to be in the market for a 150/152 in the next few months after I sell one of my cars.
Flew for the first time in over 2 years a couple of weeks ago. Cost me $200.00 for the plane, a 03 172sp and the instructor for 1.3 hours. Plane was 119.00, the instructor 40.00. Can't afford that for the amount of time I want to fly. If you still have your plane for sale when I am ready I will get in contact with you.

Thanks for all the response folks.

I know my engine time is probably whats slowing the movement of the plane, but it's still a strong engine with less than 100 hours since we tore it down and put new rings in it. And like most of you, I have a lot more invested than I ever expected to get out. I probably have about 28K invested here as I paid too much for the plane myself but it was local and an easy deal at the time. Then I found out that it needed a lot of attention during the 1st annual.

Bengie, there is NDH and I will put that on the info.

Charles the way things are going, it will still be around in a few months if your still interested in her.
