Saw this on BeechTalk [beechtalk.com]. Looks like an interesting plane. It uses an O-200 and is 200 lbs lighter than a C150.

Description from ad:

Always thought they were pretty cool. They made a splash in the 1960s and early 1970 and then just faded away. There was an armed version (air to ground rockets, I think), used by a few countries.

I was going to take dual in one, but didn't fit, so flew a 172 instead.

Henry,
Cool! Where is the throttle? Center consol? If so the pilot on either position would have trouble guarding the throttle and steering the control stick because you’d use the same hand for each task. I’d still like to fly one. 👍

Geoff,

It says: Center stick, Dual throttles, Hand brake

Looks like the front windshield opens upwards and you climb in through the front. You can also say you fly a Messerschmitt!

Maybe a good air defense system for Poob's bunker?

The black knobs on the curved rods at either end of the instrument panel are for the throttle.

The airplane looks wonderfully impractical. smile I’d like to try it out!

Poobs,

That's a brilliant airplane for you - defend the Bunker while giving dual. You make money while protecting yourself.

At least until they learn to lead the target by the right amount.

Looks like no vacuum system required - no AI or DG. Great for spins, no gyroscopic instruments to mess up.

Looks pretty sturdy inside. Good German engineering.
