I’m in the process of putting a 150M back in the air. Overhauling the engine and propeller, have the interior out, wings off etc. Lots of cleaning repairing and rebuilding.
One item in need of replacement is the lower instrument panel cover, p/n 0413545-1, I got a price today of $2000.00! Anyone know of alternatives.
Welcome to the forum, Clarence. Club member Bill Rourke makes metal instrument panels. Click on his name and use the Private Message (PM) function to send him a message. When he replies, there will be a blinking envelope next to "My Stuff" near the top of the screen. Click on it to read his reply. If he's on one of his overseas flights, it might take a few days before he replies.
It sounds like you have quite a project on your hands and the club loves following projects/restorations.
Hung is correct with his advice and a metal panel is by far your best option.
Several of us have made the switch to Bill's panels and here are pictures of the panels he made for my M model. As you'll see, he can customize them in any configuration needed.
We like pictures so any you can share would be most welcome.
I'm not much help with the panel, Clarence, but do want to welcome you to the Club! The project you are undertaking would be overwhelming for me. But, I am always glad to see someone bring another 150 back to life!
The 150 project isn’t too bad and will be a fun addition to the other airplanes my buddy and I own, a Piper Comanche 400, a Piper Turbo Twin Comanche, a Vans RV4 all flying and a Mooney Mite waiting in the rafters.
I’ve been involved in aircraft maintenance for 35 years, almost 30 in business for myself.
