It turns out that I missed my mission definition pretty badly when I came up with my SportHawk. I built it to fly my wife and myself back and forth between Midland, TX and Ruidoso, NM, a trip of 225 miles. The little airplane does a great job of hauling us, the cat and our junk back and forth but it is just too snug to suit us; I am 9?2? and Ann is 5?9?.
In our pre 210 days we had a 182 and really did like it. Ann is tickled to death with the size and comfort of the bigger plane. I like the stability and range; it is a great IFR platform.
The SportHawk will be on the market as soon as it finishes being an organ donor to the 182; I am moving the auto pilot,
It will be a sad day when the SportHawk leaves the nest. It a great little airplane and I have had more pure fun in it than any other plane that I have ever owned.
Attached is a picture (not very good) of my new bird.
Okay, you're still welcome to attend any of our functions. At least you didn't depart to the dark side and decide your wing needed to be ...uh hum, uhhh, down there, if you know what I mean...
Nice ride, Wayne. Congratulations.
