An unusual paint scheme, but an airplane that looks well cared for, and certainly highly detailed.

They say they spent $30K on the refurbish, not hard to believe. Current bid only about $15K reserve not known.

Might be of interest to some of you who don't want to spend your own $30K on a fixerupper.

Out of curiosity, I did a document search through the club link and found all to be well, except that THIS caught my eye under "Status":

[color:"red"] "A second attempt has been made at mailing a Triennial Aircraft Registration form to the owner with n....."

It ends there!

So, I went directly to the FAA Registry database and looked again. I found this in place of the normally supplied registration information:

[color:"red"]"This aircraft's registration status may not be suitable for operation.

Please contact the Aircraft Registration Branch at 1-866-762-9434 for additional information."

Many owners are not aware that failure to keep registration information up to date, such as a change of address, or other information, can result in your aircraft losing it's registration, and therefore it's airworthy status. Given enough time, your "N" number can be reassigned to another aircraft. I don't know what happened on this particular registration, but the current owner needs to contact the FAA and rectify any discrepancy before any sale is completed.

Nice, low time bird from the looks of it. I've never been able to find landing gear and wing strut fairings to fit the '67 150G. Anyone know if this is a legal installation?

They weren't available on earlier 150's, so won't be listed as applicable. No, it's not legal to install them without filing an FAA form 337 and obtaining approval. It shouldn't be hard to obtain approval, considering all 150's/152's are on the same type certificate anyway, and installation could be considered an improvement or upgrade to an early model. Others have done it and they fit fine. I plan to install them on my 1963 150C.

Seems like this one has been on barnstomers or trade a plane for a while. I am thinking the asking was in the high $20's, $27-29K or something like that. It is based somewhere in Oregon I believe (despite Eastern Washington designation)

An unusual paint scheme

That's one way to put it. My friends would never let me live that paint scheme down!

Well, ya won't miss that paint scheme at the crowded airport.

"Mine's the rainbow 150."

Oh boy.

Just to keep everybody straight ... Morton is in WESTERN Washington ...

Also, when I was researching Juliet I got the same kind of hit on the FAA registration site. There was a little confusion on the original owners transfer of registration and he had a faxed letter from the FAA. It all got cleared up easily and did not impact transfer of ownership to MOI. It seems that even minor glitches in paperwork can cause that flag on the website.

Have a question. I noticed in the advertisment something I have not seen before: What is this or how is it done?

"All exterior overlapping skin joints sealed (streamlined) before painting"

Question, maybe someone can help,, looking at the pics of the cuffs on the wing strut,, I notice there's a plastic or rubber strip around the cuffs,, I've just replaced mine and I'm thinking this would add a bit of strenght to the cuffs, so, anyone know what that is,, and where can I get some/.
