Mike, I'm not sure what you use for a tent or how much it weighs. Have you considered using 2 smaller light weight tents?
THIS ONE [amazon.com] is 3.15lb and THIS ONE [amazon.com] is 3.7lb and ez up.
Send your stuff to Clinton then send half of it home and take the bare essentials to Oshkosh. Maybe throw some away when it's time to make the journey home.

If not, there is probably info on the Air Venture site.
Thanks George. I will be researching both the EAA and Airventure for any info regarding this. I know back in 2017 I was able to mail stuff out from Oshkosh at Airventure. Just no knowledge (yet) of a shipping in procedure or capability. I will post anything I find out and perhaps someone else has some first-hand knowledge.

Ron, thanks for the suggestions. I will have a look at lightening up the camping gear! smile

Man, I tell ya.... it's too easy to keep packing stuff and incredibly difficult to lighten and eliminate what you don't need. Kid of like choosing which of your kids you like the most.

UPS has a station at AirVenture during the fly-in. You can ship from Clinton, but it will won't go out until Monday, and arrive OSH on Tuesday if you ship overnight.

There is another way though. I'm driving to both events, and I have room.

Hi Mark! Well that certainly sounds like a generous offer! I plan to work out my items and weight for safe flight for me and grandson Trevor. That will certainly involve shipping some stuff to Clinton. I did reach out to EAA and they confirmed (as you already stated) I can ship in and out per info found at this link: https://www.eaa.org/airventure/plan-your-eaa-airventure-trip/guest-services/shipping-services. However, as I hope to fly up to Oshkosh on the Sunday it would be great to be able to get my camping gear there in time for that first overnight. So I hope that I might be able to take you up on your generosity! smile See you there!

Bumping this thread to start the discussion again, and make it more visible to some of the newer club members. Since this will be my first fly-in with a copilot, I plan on shipping at least some of my gear to Clinton ahead of time.

If you want to ship anything to Clinton for the Fly-In, send your packages to the address below. It is best if you start the address with your name and "Cessna 150-152 Fly-In". That way, the folks at the airport won't accidentally open your package. It will be placed in a secure location at the airport FBO and will be waiting for you on arrival. You can arrange for return shipping when you are in Clinton and the airport staff will be sure that your packages are picked up by UPS/FedEx/USPS.

Your name
Cessna 150-152 Fly-In
Clinton Municipal Airport
2000 S. 60th St.
Clinton, IA. 52732

See you in Clinton!

I called the Clinton Airport a couple of times this week and was told my boxes are still at the front desk. The airport personnel informed me UPS doesn’t stop there unless they have a delivery. So I bought a thank you card and shipped it to the airport manager, Marlana via UPS. On the card I asked Marlana to let the delivery driver know about the boxes still there. Maybe this should be on the agenda from the club for next years fly in.
