Hi All,
As a group in the UK, just joined the club.
Not quite sure why we didn't do it sooner, what with owning a C150E for so many years.
Anyway, sadly what brought us here is that our a/c is stuck on the ground needing a new rudder.
Specifically we are needing 4 parts to replace our damaged items.
Realistically finding a rudder assembly is likely to be a slightly easier find.
So far we have tried some salvage yards in the UK & seen some parts on US salvage sites.
We are starting to run out of leads now
Any help at all would be very much appreciated.
We are looking for either:

1. Whole rudder part 24- 0431001-29 (this is the D or E variant).

OR

2. Rudder parts:
56 - 0431001-30 – Channel
54 - 0433134-1 – Weight Assembly Balance
37 - 0431001-21 – Skin Rudder
32 - 0431003-1 – Bellcrank Assembly

I used to jump out of a BN2 at Sibson - just to the north of you.

Anyways...... I think your best bet is Texas Air Salvage. They usually have feathers off a 150 in stock. Be a oest to ship - but I doubt you will find the parts.

Though you still might want to try and find a bellcrank. Any you get on a rudder is bound to be worn.

There is one we are looking at with them (and with bell crank).
Looks like we need to employ services of an IA to inspect it for us.
Had no luck with Faeth...got a short sharp 'sorry could not find'

Yeah - if you are going to ship it all the way across the Atlantic - you might want to get at least an AP look at it.

You might get offered a "Yellow Tag" on it. A sort of meaningless "Maintenance Release". See this article as to why it doesn't really hold legal authority - though it is commonly used over here.:

At the end of the day it will be the installing mechanic who is going to have to declare it airworthy. But a yellow tag might be a sort of start.

There are some "wear" parts you should consider replacing - even if the rudder comes with them:

The pivot/hinge bushings - you can get PMA parts from the club sponsor McFarlane:

These are cheap and really a must.

The plastic tip and bottom which will probably be brittle and possibly damaged. You can get these from a number of places - but again - McFarlane do new PMA for these.

And back to that bellcrank - No one seems to make new on these yet - but it's the one thing I would have looked at extra carefully for wear around the pivot holes and be prepared to get another from a rudder that might be in worse shape but with a better bellcrank.

Email Club Member James Rhoades - last time I saw a picture of his hangar - he had a lot of "stuff" - and it might include a 150 rudder.

Finally - bump this post in about 12 days. A lot of members who could probably contribute or help here are at Clinton for the Fly in or Oshkosh for AirVenture. They might not be paying a lot of attention here.

I just live a few mile from Texas Air Salvage but unfortunately, from my experience, they will not let you on premises to inspect parts. Try Dallas Air Salvage or , Dawson AirCraft Parts in Arkansas.

I replaced my damaged rudder on my "E" model with one I bought from Faeth Aircraft Parts. https://www.faethaircraft.com/ I still have the old damaged rudder. It has some damage to the bellcrank and the channel that the bell crank attaches to. The old rudder is repairable, it was simply easier to replace it. I will try to find some pictures of the damage and send them to you. I will ship the rudder to you for the price of shipping.
