I am looking for an aft spinner bulkhead for a '75 C150M. Mine apparently walked out of the hanger while we had the prop removed. The part number from the manual is 0450046-3. I found two on eBay with a part no. C2325 and C2326. Says they are for the Sensenich conversion. It looks the same as the one I need for the McCauley. Would it be the same part for both props?

Thanks in advance.

Robert,

Last year I had a crack in my aft bulkhead, and found out that they are extremely difficult to find. I called dozens of salvage yards, and most just laughed when I asked them, they said that they get requests for this part at least three times per week and never have them. If you do find them, they are often very expensive. Cessna sells replacements that are over $1,000.

My model is also a 1975, and I believe the part number that was superseded is 0450046-5.

The best that I could find was a small machine shop that advertises being able to recreate the bulkhead under the owner produced parts rule. He made a new one and had it shipped out within a couple of days. The cost was $400 Plus shipping, which while expensive seemed like a deal compared to the Cessna part. I can find and post the contact info if you are interested.

The Sensenich and McCauley propellers use different spinners and I'm pretty sure different backplates

And Michael is correct. The L-M spinners and backplates are very difficult to find, and they are the only models you cannot use a Skull Cap.

A new backplate for the McCaulley from Cessnaparts [cessnaparts.com] is $1,104.48
A new Spinner assembly for the Sensenich [sensenich.com] is $705
