*********SOLD********** I just listed my 1972 C-150 (aka Sunshine) over on Trade A Plane, but just in case anyone in the group was looking for a nice clean airplane or knows someone who is, I wanted to make sure it was listed here on the forum. In my humble opinion, it's the nicest 150 on the market at the present time. Asking $58,500.
All the details, photos, and even a video are over on TAP, but here are the basics (downloadable pdf spec sheet below):
ACFT TT: 5297 TSMO: 390 (factory overhaul by Teledyne Continental Motors) Prop: 40 since overhaul Useful Load: 520 Like new paint, excellent interior Complete logbooks, minor damage history in 1976, no hail or corrosion
I love flying Sunshine, but my wife has developed some mobility issues and has trouble getting in and out of the 150 so we recently bought a C-172, which she finds much more comfortable.
Good luck with the sale, Jeff! What a nice looking 150!
A few years ago, my wife and I were in a similar situation as you. We started shopping Cardinals and even made an offer on one but the pre-buy nixed that one. Before we found a good one, my wife’s mobility issues worsened so she couldn’t fly at all and we kept our 150 just for me.
I really hope your wife maintains the ability to fly with you in your 172 (or 150 Heavy!). Fly when you can because you never know when you may not be able to. Again, good luck!
Just curious, but has the plane been on actual scales recently or have all the W&B adjustments been mathematical revisions? I am insanely jealous of your useful load.
